THE CAPTIVITY MEME

You've been captured -- or maybe you've been held captive for a while now. Whatever the case, you've lost your freedom, and there's a specific person responsible for that. You might be a prisoner, a mental patient, a kidnap victim, or someone's pet. Maybe you're there willingly, or maybe the choice has been taken away from you completely.

Both smut and non-smut scenarios are possible. If you don't want to play smut, please indicate so in the title line of your tag.

1. Leave a tag with your character. Be sure to include any limits on what you are willing to play, as this meme has the potential to be triggering.
2. Someone else tags in and uses RNG to generate a number between 1 and 9 (or pick your favorite). The second character is holding the first character captive now.

1. For their own good. Does this person really think they could make it on their own? It's a big, scary world out there, and you need to protect them from it, whether they like it or not.

2. For the good of society. Forget protecting this person -- it's your duty to protect the world from them! Maybe they committed a terrible crime, or maybe they were falsely condemned, but it's your job to keep them locked up where they can't do any more harm.

3. Because they're not well. How's your bedside manner? Whether you're Florence Nightingale or Mildred Ratched, you're in the position of ministering to the mentally ill. Maybe this person genuinely needs your help, or maybe you're just turning a blind eye to their true sanity.

4. For the money. Higher aims? What higher aims? This person is your meal ticket, and they're staying put until their loved ones pay up.

5. For their love. It might be a case of yandere, or it might be a consenting BDSM relationship. Whether it's by mutual agreement or by force, you're keeping them simply because you love them.

6. Because they're cute and fluffy. Who's a cutesy wutesy? They are! Yes, they are! This person is your pet now. Maybe they're a different species from you, or maybe you just don't care that you're both people. Maybe you're even an alien zookeeper looking after a new acquisition.

7. Because they're your property. Slave? Livestock? Who cares what they think - they're your property, and you decide their fate.

8. For the lulz. Hey, what's a little bondage between friends? You'll let them go, once you're done laughing and snapping photos... maybe.

9. Choose a scenario, or combine several.

I shrug uncomfortably. "I... don't know. It still matters, though."

I finish with his other wrist and move back, but only a little. I'm still sitting next to him, hip warmed by contact with his side. "A couple, to some extent. Okay, maybe not to my standards." I sigh. "You may have a point. But that doesn't mean no one would be able to maintain the zords at all without me, and it doesn't mean you're replaceable."

Now that his wrists were free, it gave Hunter something else to focus on then how close Cam still was. He sat up a bit and rubbed them to get some of the circulation back before staring on releasing one of his ankles.

"I never said I was. Just that it's always going to be you over me." He tried to put some finality in his statement as he really didn't want to talk about this anymore.

I'm silent for a while as I work on his other ankle and try to parse what the hell he means.

I finish with the last loop of rope. I poke him carefully in the side of the foot and don't look at him. "Logically, that makes some sense. But logic doesn't mean much in these circumstances, and if you ever take a shot for me I'll smack you so damn hard."

I get up, and scoot towards the main room. "I'll get your shoes."

"You don't hit nearly as hard as Tori. I'll take my chances" Was Hunter's flippant reply as he shook off the last of the ropes and turned so he could sit with his feet on the floor. He stretched out his limbs that had fallen asleep a little as he waited, since it was better then thinking.

"Not fair, no one does!" I call, looking for his stupid shoes.

"Who ever said anything was fair?" He was teasing but the statement did hit him in the gut a little. Hardly anything in Hunter's life had been fair, until he'd met the Wind Rangers. And even now...The term "so close and yet so far" had a similar impact.

"Dude, what did you do with my shoes? Hide them?"

"...point," I admit, voice muffled because by now I'm on the floor. Things have been particularly unfair for him and Blake, really. I'm straining under Dad's, um, little house, with my behind sticking out. "Possibly we have mice?"

No, can't see them there either.

"Maybe I could just borrow a pair of yours. Until the 'mice' give them back?" Yeah, Hunter had kinda noticed (it was a nice behind) and looked away with an strangled cough. "Seriously dude, if you wanted to keep me here so badly, you shouldn't have untied me." More teasing, because it was easier.

"They're getting worse," I groan as I back out. "Stray energy leaks increasing their intelligence. I think some of them have developed door to door salesmen."

The last part is an attempt at humour. The rest, unfortunately, is nothing but truth.

I look away, embarrased but amused. "Don't tempt me. Now, what size do you take?"

I'm not even sure if we wear the same size shoes.

"Dude, have you ever heard of an exterminator? That can't be good." Just what they needed, super smart mice.

"Who wouldn't be tempted to keep their own Thunder Ninja around?" He couldn't resist, he just couldn't.

"11, same as Dustin if he's left a pair around." Which he knew was a common occurrence.

"I'm not optimistic about getting someone to come out here," I say wryly. "And if they did and went after Dad, things wouldn't go well."

I laugh at that. "Yes, there's a hundred uses."

...

Of course. I tap my chin for a moment, then dive for the corridor. "Just a moment." I'm sure there's a pair in the bathroom.

"I'm sure your dad could avoid an exterminator. He is a master ninja after all." Though the mental image was funny.

And that earned a raised eyebrow. "Hundred uses, huh? You've given this some thought?" He can't resist more teasing, even as he watches Cam head out to hunt for a pair of no doubt yellow sneakers.

I emerge triumphant, waving a pair of *bright* yellow sneakers with little motorbike decals over the sides. "Yeah, Dad would probably manage pretty well," I agree, smiling.

I lift a shoulder and let it drop. "What, you want the full list?" I deadpan.

The yellow sneakers brought a slight wince from Hunter but he sighed and motioned for Cam to bring them over. It was only till he got home or Cam found his.

"If you have it handy, shoot." Now this he had to hear.
