In which Sky feels funny...
[For
spd_red but anyone who wants to play with a loopy Sky is more then welcome. Also, feel free to change the setting if you like.]
Looking back on the fight, Sky didn't remember getting hit with anything. Sure, he got some of the alien's weird smelling smoke to the face but he thought his shields had blocked most of it to the point that he hadn't even worried.
And even later, he still didn't think anything was wrong. In fact...he felt pretty darn good. He felt loose and relaxed and he couldn't wipe the happy smile off his face.
That should have been anyone's first clue that something was wrong.
The second was the fact that he was sitting in the common room, attempting to have pleasant conversations with everyone in the room. At least those who would talk to the Blue Ranger who usually only talked to his teammates. And was still beaming.

[snorts] I could try it. Though if I blow up or something, I'm gonna tell Cruger to bill the carpet cleaning to you.
...you first.
no subject
We can try it after dinner! After we try this marshmallow pizza.
no subject
[laughing, opening the door to my room]
That's the spirit. If we're gonna end up with messy Jack-shaped chunks all over my room, we might as well enjoy ourselves first.
C'mon in.
no subject
[Walks in and takes an eager look around.] I've never been in your room. It's very homey. I like it.
no subject
...okay, I'll be positive.
[snorts, looking around; it's mostly fairly bare as I'm not used to having a lot of possessions. Bed's messy but clean. Couple shirts slung carelessly over the back of a chair. But I did spend a little money on getting a decent bed and a (small) decent table and chairs set]

Does it get lonely without a roommate? [Asked idly as he walked around the room before settling to sit on the bed.] I like sharing with Bridge. He's my best friend.
no subject
[shakes head, not at all affected by the sight of you on the bed]
[sits down next to you]
Nah, it's okay. It's quiet sometimes, but I'm fine.
[this might be something of a lie]
no subject
It's a shame the rooms are made for two. You could have shared with me and Bridge.
[And wouldn't that be a horrifying thought if Sky was himself.]
no subject
[blinking rapidly, not sure how the hell to process that]
Yeah... yeah, sure, that's a shame.
no subject
Or, I'm sure Bridge would love his own room. Then he could bring his experiments home with him. I like it when he's excited about something but I like my sleep too.
[Yes, he just implied what you thought he implied.]
no subject
[oh boy, do I embarrass you more by pulling away from what -- at the moment -- is a fairly innocent touch? Or by letting it go, then having you freak out later?]
Sleep... yeah, sleep's good, true.
no subject
Sleep is good. Jack, are you alright?
no subject
[deep breaths, I'll be fine]
[I have to be]
[voice is squeakier than I like it, though]
I'm fine, sorry. Um. I think Bridge'd be sad if you left his room, though. He likes you, too.
no subject
[Sky is still a little concerned. And now he's touching Jack's thigh and his arm.] Are you sure?
no subject
I -- I'll level with you, Sky. I'm worried that this is getting a little too intimate, and you're gonna freak out when you're feeling more like yourself again.
[my voice is gentle but strained; I don't want to hurt you but I have to explain to you why I'm kiiinda rejecting you]
no subject
I feel fine. I wish you'd believe me. Maybe I want intimate.
[Totally leaning into Jack's personal space now.]
no subject
[pained sigh]
[shifting back a few inches]
...maybe I do, too. But it wouldn't be right. I'm glad you feel okay, but your judgement's impaired, Sky. Just like if you were drunk or something. I can't do it.
no subject
[frowns when Jack moves away from him.]
If you don't feel comfortable...maybe I should go...
[noble even when impaired.]
no subject
Nah, it's okay. Lemme get you some dinner.

no subject
Now. Two marshmallow pizzas?
no subject
[Still subdued but more of the life is back now that food was mentioned. He was hungry and he did want his 'date' with Jack.]
no subject
[Sky, you're killing me]
[gets pizzas plus two sodas, plonks 'em on table]
Over here okay?
no subject
[His smile was slowly returning as he moved to sit at the table with Jack, not even complaining about the soda over his usual water or juice.]
no subject
Just want you to be happy, Sky.
