In which Sky feels funny...

Looking back on the fight, Sky didn't remember getting hit with anything. Sure, he got some of the alien's weird smelling smoke to the face but he thought his shields had blocked most of it to the point that he hadn't even worried.

And even later, he still didn't think anything was wrong. In fact...he felt pretty darn good. He felt loose and relaxed and he couldn't wipe the happy smile off his face.

That should have been anyone's first clue that something was wrong.

The second was the fact that he was sitting in the common room, attempting to have pleasant conversations with everyone in the room. At least those who would talk to the Blue Ranger who usually only talked to his teammates. And was still beaming.

[It was very Jack, not like the stark cleanliness of Sky's half of the room he shared with Bridge, whose side often looked like a jump yard. Simple but lived in.]

Does it get lonely without a roommate? [Asked idly as he walked around the room before settling to sit on the bed.] I like sharing with Bridge. He's my best friend.

It's a shame the rooms are made for two. You could have shared with me and Bridge.

[Moves closer and puts his hand on Jack's leg, completely at ease with the touches.]

Or, I'm sure Bridge would love his own room. Then he could bring his experiments home with him. I like it when he's excited about something but I like my sleep too.

[oh boy, do I embarrass you more by pulling away from what -- at the moment -- is a fairly innocent touch? Or by letting it go, then having you freak out later?]

[Sky hopes you don't freak out. He's enjoying himself right now. Though the whimper makes him cock his head.]

[Sky is still a little concerned. And now he's touching Jack's thigh and his arm.] Are you sure?

[dammit, right now all I want to do is turn and gently take you in my arms, not even for a kiss necessarily, just to bury my face in your neck and hold you close]

I -- I'll level with you, Sky. I'm worried that this is getting a little too intimate, and you're gonna freak out when you're feeling more like yourself again.

[my voice is gentle but strained; I don't want to hurt you but I have to explain to you why I'm kiiinda rejecting you]

[rolls his eyes, but it has no malice behind it.]

[Moves so Jack's hand is touching his cheek.]

[frowns when Jack moves away from him.]

[nyargh, crap, I don't want you to leave, somewhat for selfish reasons but mostly because I want to make sure you're okay and don't do anything you'll REALLY regret later]

Nah, it's okay. Lemme get you some dinner.

Okay. [puts his hands in his lap, oddly subdued and submissive as he watches Jack with wide eyes.]

Now. Two marshmallow pizzas?

[Still subdued but more of the life is back now that food was mentioned. He was hungry and he did want his 'date' with Jack.]

[gets pizzas plus two sodas, plonks 'em on table]

[His smile was slowly returning as he moved to sit at the table with Jack, not even complaining about the soda over his usual water or juice.]

[looking suspiciously at the pizza]

Just want you to be happy, Sky.

I am happy. [ said with unusual patience for Sky as he smiled fondly at Jack] I'm happy here with you.

[then he tucked into his pizza with relish, marshmallows and all.]

Sweet and salty. I think I like it.

[Then he plucked a marshmallow off a slice and threw it at Jack with a sly grin.]

[sticks in the middle of my forehead until I pluck it off and stare at it, my own grin growing slowly]

Oh, you did not just do that.

I think I did. [said with a sly grin before throwing another marshmallow while ducking the first.]
