"Well, then, we'll order triple! This may surprise you since I'm so delicate, but I have an appetite." I take him inside the sweet shop.

I'm not sure what's going on, but I'm hoping that it's not too bad. Still, I follow his lead as he finds us a table.

"I should probably order something light...." I murmur.

"Light? Nah, you're missing the whole point of sweets! 'Sides, it's not like you have to watch your figure-- unless you're an actor or something. Are ya?"

I order a slice of chocolate cake, a slice of apple pie, and a dish of ice cream for later. That'll start me off well, I think.

"I'm kept pretty active," I tell him, considering my choices. Chocolate ice cream sounds good.

He looks so happy to be having lunch that I wonderif he's homeless.

Which reminds, I could def. make him a homeless kid AU, if you don't mind

"With what? Glamor shots and pretty girls all over you?" Honestly, he seems too awkward to be an actor, but I like poking fun. It's how I show affection.

I blush a little at that. "Um."

I don't know what to say, so I wait for food to arrive. He looks like he hasn't had a deceby meal in weeks.

"Hey, don't be shy, you're a good looking person--" FOOD.

Man, slamming all of this down is gonna kill my digestive system, but it's better than how my stomach's been empty for two days now.

He's eating fast. I don't know if that's a good thing, but I can imagine Gonza-san's horrified look if I at that fast.

Thinking about that just about keeps me from blushing at his remarks. "Thanks."

I start on my own snack, savoring every bite.

"You're welcome!" I'm almost done with the cake, and am working my way into the pie. "So, how long have you been living here? I just got here." By running away from home, but no need to tell him that. But it can't hurt to have a few friends in this town, especially if I'm no longer counting on my family. "I'm guessing awhile, since you seem to know good places to eat."

He cheerfully chatters away at me. I savor my food. "I know something about the area, yes." Though mostly because I was actually looking for a gate to close while waiting for Kouga-san.

My companion is eating so fast I'm surprised he hasn't given himself a stomachache. I'm going to get one just by watching him, I swear.

"Oh, really?" Awesome. "So do you have a job, or school or what?" Okay, done with the pie, now for the ice cream~

"I have a job." I'm still surprised at how fast he's eating. "And you? How did you end up here?"

I prefer machines to humans. But talking to him isn't going to hurt me.

I freeze mid-bite. "Well. Y'know. I got bored of my old town and stuff." Which is all true. But I also found out what my 'father' was up to, and yeah. Not going to go back. Ever.

Even I know something's wrong. But I'm not sure I should say anything. Unless his issues had to do with a Horror, it's not something I should worry about.

"I got tired of my old home as well," I tell him, hoping that it makes him untense. "So I came here."

"Oh. Cool." I feel a bit better now. The food also helps, of course! "Yeah, I'm hoping this place will be less of a pain, how about you?"

"The same with me." I bow a little. "I'm Fudou Leo. You are?"

It'll pass the time until Kouga-san comes, at the very least, and if I can figure out where this person comes from, I can take a look at things.

Leo, okay. I grin back. "I'm Hikaru." Probably best if I don't give my last name right now.

"Is your home a long ways away, Hikaru?" I ask politely. I don't need to know where it is, but a general idea might be nice. "I came from halfway across the country because I was reassigned here."

I work on the remains of my ice cream, thinking of ways to talk to him.

"Wow, seriously?" This is the furthest I've been from home, ever. "Man, your job must be intense, Leo."

"Um, mine's closer," I admit. "I walked and took a bus."

So, whatever happened to him, he doesn't live so far away that he's out of our territory. Or at least Kouga-san's territory. I should be getting back to mine.

"It keeps me fairly busy," I admit. It's going to be difficult tracing where he came from, but at least it's a start. "And fed."

And fed, hunh? "That must be nice--" Crap, letting on too much. "So, um," and I do my best to smile, "How 'bout dessert to finish it all off?"

He suddenly doesn't want to talk. I wish Kaoru-san was here; she'd get it out of him fairly quickly.

"You have room for food after this?" I'm full after the ice cream.

"I always have room for food," I admit frankly. "Mama used to say that..." Oh. right.

I wish I would stop remembering the sight of her body so vividly. And randomly.

Something happened to him. I remind myself that it probably isn't Horrors. After all, humans are perfectly capable of vices on their own.

It's probably attracting Horrors, still. I'll have to do some magic when I get back and figure out if anything's flaring up in the area.

"You mean that your parents are dead, too."
