I yawn, and turn the page. It's not that late, really. I shouldn't be tired. But the house is unusually quiet and I'm finding it incredibly hard to focus on these reports.

Oh, well. I sip my coffee, then pick up my red pen again and make myself concentrate.

"Not a goddamn thing. He just ran."

I ball a fist and drive it into the wall next to me. Doesn't help.

"Fuck." I put my Mobirates away.

"He's not here." I finally supply, just in case that wasn't obvious. "Do you know where else he would have gone?"

"I've been looking. I'm telling everyone I know and they're all looking, too," I say, about ready to terminate the call. I have better manners than that normally, but he knows enough, he doesn't know where Joe is, and he can start looking now too.

"I'll have my Green sweep the area for any sign of him," I tip my chin to Don to make sure he heard me. "Call me if you find him."
