Welcome to the Dinohouse Christmas "meme"! This is going to work a bit differently from most memes, but still free free to do what you want here!

The idea:
Following this post I will be making an assortment of Universe/Location "thread" comments. These will define the specific scene and universe being worked in. Comments by applicable characters will follow under that comment.

Example:
Mushverse; Shiba Mansion; open to Shinkengers

Comments following that would all be set in the Mushverse universe, be by any Shinkengers that want to participate, and take place at the Shiba Mansion Christmas party. Think of it sort of like every "top level" comment is its own post to the community.

Following that example, if your desired AU/Canon/etc isn't there, feel free to make a "thread" for it! Say there's already a Mushverse Go-busters "thread", and you want to do something in Aibouverse, or something more canon, maybe just between two characters? Make one!

Comments following the "thread" headings can be group setting free for all, or between individuals. Say it's a canon GokaiGalleon party, and Gai and Luka want to go off alone, or are on their way to the Galleon together? Their thread can be a separate second level comment thread beneath the main Canon Gokaiger thread.

I know that's a lot of information/qualifiers, but don't let it make you nervous to post, "rules" are fluid, and mainly set for added organization.

Emi shakes me again, and I blink blearily at him, then-

Ooh.

Hugs.

Nice. "Sorry," I say ruefully. "I thought I was being careful."

I grin at Emi's request. "Helium!"

"Not careful enough, mon chaton."

Jueki dutifully gathers the boxes of empty balloons and I salute at him.

"I am only doing this because I wish to do so." He informs me steadily and I nod and flash him a peace sign.

"Of course, Jueki. And for some extra Enetron. On me."

That gets him to practically run from the conference room with his balloons. Admittedly, playing the Enetron card was a bit of a low move on my part, and we might end up with no balloons if Jueki over-fills them all, but. Oh well.

I have Hiromu mostly alone.

Mostly.

I pull Kotako down off my shoulders and giver her a little kiss to the top of her head. "Could you get us some coffee, cher?"

She agrees readily enough and toddles off.

Now I have him alone, so I can pull the mistletoe from my pocket.

"I know, I know," I sigh, then I do a small double take. What on Earth does 'chaton' mean? I hope it's nothing too insulting.

J and Kotako head out, and I rub my temples a little in embarrassment. I hate passing out. I hate that I worried Emi.

...Emi's pulling something out of his pocket.

He is so delightfully oblivious at the best of times.

I step closer, hooking my free arm around his shoulders, across the back of his neck, and pulling him closer. I prop my other elbow in the palm of that hand, and dangle the mistletoe over him.

"Oh là là, you appear to have been caught."

I blink rapidly at Emi as he encloses me, and holds... mistletoe over us.

I'm blushing so hard my face feels like it's on fire, but I can't help grinning. He's so close. So intent.

So... so dear.

"I guess so."

His face is red to rival his suit and I smirk at that. I like to imagine I can even feel the heat radiating off him. Of course, I can't.

Oh, well. This isn't for me. This is for him. Sure, I didn't get much more of a chance to grow up than he did, but having met his sister, no offense meant to Rika-san of course, I think in the long run I got the better end of that deal. From a purely 'this is how we were taught about the world' standpoint.

Everything else is irrelevant, especially right now.

I lean forward, abusing the little bit of extra height I have on him, and bump his nose with my own before brushing my lips against his.

Is he really going to-

My eyes close involuntarily as he closes in. His nose brushes against mine, then his lips...

...oh.

I know it's not him. It's his avatar. But in a way that's more him than his body anyway, because it's his essence, his choices, his life, and for a moment I can imagine that it's his lips so feather light, so soft against mine.

I'm grinning. Stupidly.

I don't care.

I understand, more and more each day, as I explore the bounds and limits of my developing relationship with Hiromu, how much this must be wearing on Masato.

His relationship with the Commander is decidedly more detailed and in depth than mine with Hiromu. There is an extended history there, an adult history that I can't compete with. Nor do I necessarily want to.

But I am beginning to understand how painful it must be, not to be able to really feel it when they touch. Not just anyone's touch, but specifically this person who he cares for in that way.

I sigh a little as I pull away, and shift my hands around so I can brush one through his hair.

"No more balloons. Okay?"

"No more balloons," I assure him, smiling at him dreamily. I...

He's so nice.

I can't help but laugh quietly at his goofy smile, his droopy dreamy eyes.

To hell with the mistletoe. I kiss him again.

My eyebrows go up as he holds me close again, and this time I'm actually able to focus on the feel of it.

I know it's not him. But it's still him.

I'm stronger that I seem, in this form, since it's not real and all, and we're pretty resilient. We have to be. So I wrap my arms tight around his waist and lift him a little, just to his tiptoes.

When I pull back, he looks dazed and...

So happy.

I love that I made him look like that.

"Happy Christmas."

If passing out gets me this...

No. He'd smack me.

"Happy Christmas," I respond obediently, my voice hoarse. I'm still gazing at him like he's the most precious thing on the planet, Enetron and Santa and family combined.

...maybe he is. Kind of.

I like the way his voice sounds so gruff. I like the look in his eyes.

I like that look. I like that I caused it.

"Come on. There's more decorating to be done than knocking ourselves out over balloons."
