Miu has time off, during the holidays, and I'm taking my own time off, so I can spend it with her. I know she doesn't really like pretending to be a teacher at the Amanogawa school, and I want her vacation to be as pleasant and rejuvenating as it can be. Sousuke will be joining us later in the week, but for the first night, well.

Peace and quiet is best, I think.

I'm not much of a cook, but I don't want her to go to the trouble tonight. So I order a lavish meal from one of the finest restaurants in town, and have it all set out and ready for her on the dinning room table for when she arrives, complete with candlelight and fresh flowers in every room.

There are even fresh rose petals on our bed. I... want her to feel special.

Welcome to the Dinohouse Christmas "meme"! This is going to work a bit differently from most memes, but still free free to do what you want here!

The idea:
Following this post I will be making an assortment of Universe/Location "thread" comments. These will define the specific scene and universe being worked in. Comments by applicable characters will follow under that comment.

Example:
Mushverse; Shiba Mansion; open to Shinkengers

Comments following that would all be set in the Mushverse universe, be by any Shinkengers that want to participate, and take place at the Shiba Mansion Christmas party. Think of it sort of like every "top level" comment is its own post to the community.

Following that example, if your desired AU/Canon/etc isn't there, feel free to make a "thread" for it! Say there's already a Mushverse Go-busters "thread", and you want to do something in Aibouverse, or something more canon, maybe just between two characters? Make one!

Comments following the "thread" headings can be group setting free for all, or between individuals. Say it's a canon GokaiGalleon party, and Gai and Luka want to go off alone, or are on their way to the Galleon together? Their thread can be a separate second level comment thread beneath the main Canon Gokaiger thread.

I know that's a lot of information/qualifiers, but don't let it make you nervous to post, "rules" are fluid, and mainly set for added organization.

It's the same all over again... well... sort of. I peek out from behind the curtain as the orchestra files out on stage to take their positions. I don't get a seat, since I was invited as a guest violinist. Instead, there's a microphone and music stand set up for me near the conductor. I don't really need the stand... I'm only playing one song, and it's my father's song that I've been playing for years.

Maybe it's worse that it's only one song... what if I screw up playing the one melody that's nearest to my heart? I can see my friends in the front row - Nago-san, the cafe owner, Megumi-san, Shizuka-chan, and Kengo-kun. I know it's not Kengo-kun's taste in music, but I'm glad he's here. And then there's the rest of the audience. This isn't like the time Shizuka-chan invited the ladies from the neighborhood to hear me play. Aside from my friends, I'm not sure I know anyone else in the room.

I suddenly hear the conductor call my name. I was agonizing so much over my performance, that I didn't notice the orchestra had already played through the pieces leading up to mine. I walk out slowly, trying desperately to mask my nerves and block out the modest applause. I watch the conductor as I make my trek, and he nods when I get to the microphone. "I'm Kurenai Wataru," I carefully say into it.

I bring the violin up to my chin, and ready the bow. I momentarily catch my friends' eyes, and it's the best I can do to keep the feeling of panic off my face. I take a deep breath, close my eyes, and begin to play.

When I finish, the applause is stronger. I smile, relieved that it's finally over, bow to everyone in the hall (including the conductor and the rest of the orchestra), and quickly make my way back to my green room.

After the concert ends, I notice my friends waiting by the exit. They're all full of smiles and hugs and handshakes. But what's surprising is how many other people are also waiting.

I'm thinking maybe it's about time we head back to Japan, Speedor and me. I know something's wrong, even if Hiroto and Miu aren't telling me so over the phone, because our nightly phone calls are much shorter than they used to be, with a sight less, um. Inappropriate overtures.

Plus I just miss them.

I plan on surprising them when I get back (I can keep secrets too!). I make sure I pack everything up properly, especially my gifts for my team. Especially my gifts for Hiroto and Miu.

It'll be nice not to have to be inappropriate over the phone anymore. Being inappropriate in person is a lot more fun, and doors lock. Phones, kind of don't. Really.

This place seems just like any other city. Maybe a bit more hustle-and-bustle than Fuuto, granted, but it doesn't seem like the sort of place to be rife with crime and underground activity.

Then again, I never thought Fuuto could be that way, either.

I park the bike in a spot and pull off my helmet. It's weird, somehow, to think that those rumors of caped dopants could have drifted all the way from here. If it were any other sort of crime, I wouldn't have even been tapped. But the rumors had gotten even Jinno a little nervous, and I owed him a favor or five anyway.

Now if only I could find my way to this high school he wanted me to check out. What was the name again? I check my notes - ah, Amanogawa. It's late enough in the day...I wonder if there are any students wandering about?

Suddenly, a red string is attached to your finger, and you can't seem to get it off! What are they, handcuffs? Apparently, they seem to work that way - since on the other side of the string is... well, another person! Who it is, though, is completely up to who you tag - it can be a friend, an enemy, or a complete stranger.

Sure, the string doesn't seem to have a limit (it's pretty long, after all), but if the two of you are apart by more than a meter, the string will hurt you in some comical way.

Oh. And the only way to untie the knot? Is by doing any sort of intimate act.
