That there is a sort of reversal?
That the ones sealed was Eiji and the purple medals ... let me explain this.
The Greeeds and the king stuff did happen, but instead on scanning and sealing the them, he used the purple medals as a primer to take them, but it resulted in him being sealing and the greeeds being destroyed. So the medals where sent out on the world to be passed down and brought to modern times with people who look like the human form of the greeeds.
And when the seal breaks, It comes out on the form of two Eiji's, sort of like the two Ankhs. There's one who acts more like early/pre series Eiji, and the other who is a lot more vindictive and manipulative (like King was), but they are both still greeeds. They would have senses because they just took King's from him.... since they technically are in part him anyway
What they're trying to do is collect the medals again, the nicer Eiji believing the only way to stop the purple medals they hold is to take and seal all the medals with them... the more king-ish Eiji goes with it because he wants them gathered anyway.
