Ryouga looks just like he did before he died.

I'm not kidnapping him, really. I wouldn't do something so cruel to this world's Mai. But we're losing the fight, and Mai needs some comfort, if only for a moment.

I crouch behind the bushes, and get ready to strike.

Ah, it's so nice out today. There's an old couple feeding pigeons, lots of kids on the playground, a couple people reading on the benches.

I grin, and keep running.

There are too many people here. Obviously, I could just scare them off if they cause trouble, but I'd rather not.

So once he's close enough to grab from the bushes... I do just htat.

I'm tackled, and yanked back into bushes. I squawk, struggling. "What are you doing?!- Sanjou-san?"

I force back any foolish emotions I feel having Ryouga-- a Ryouga-- in my arms. "Shut up. We have something to do."

...well, he *sounds* like Sanjou-san. "What are you talking about? Evolian?"

"Among other things. Now come, or I'll carry you there." I'm not in the mood for tact. OR anything else outside of helping Mai.

If Evolian's attacked, then of course I need to be there. I don't know why the secrecy, why he didn't just contact me on my brace.

"Good." I promptly drag him to a quieter part of the park, and open a portal. "Now go."

I step back, looking him over properly. He's Sanjou-san -- but he's not the same as the Sanjou-san I know, the one who definitely can't just call up doors to other worlds in a PARK whenever he feels like it.

"Tell me what's going on," I say, fists clenched. I trust him, but this isn't right.

"Of course she needs you," I snap, then rub at my eyes. It's too bright out here. "I have her safe for now, but Evolian's gaining strength for a new incursion. If you want to help her, you have trust me. Completely."

I breathe in and out slowly, staring at him in dismay. I believe him, sure, though I probably should be more careful. But I can't just leave.

"I'll let the others know," I say at last, lifting my brace. I get through to Sanjou-san, and give him a quick explanation.
