It's not the first time I've come home injured. It won't be the last. I know he's noticed once or twice, but the only time he said something was when Dr. Takada happened to be by.
"I ran into something." That was trying to kill a bunch of kids. "Ended up with a nasty bruise." Or a cut. "Did the dishes give you any problems? I know you have to be tired if you're ordering take-out."
I'm trying to deflect his attention by asking him questions. Let's see if it works.
