"You can't seriously expect me to answer that," I tell him, watching the movement of his chest more than his eyes: if he plans on striking it will be more obvious there. He's not particularly sneaky but his expression is a whole mixture of conflicting emotions and I'd rather not rely on that to tell me if he's planning on something.
