Why is it called a Switch anyway? It's obviously a button.

........uh oh. "Hey, Blanket Guy!" I say cheerfully, keeping an eye on his hand. Is that what I think it is? "Whatcha got there?"

Blanket guy. I have a name, damn it. The blanket is just an accessory. "Hey, Stupid Hair Guy!" I return with a growl, closing my hand around the Switch to hide it. I make a pathetic attempt to derail him by pulling the blanket in question off my shoulder and holding it up.

Is that 'stupid hair' guy or stupid 'hair guy'? He better not be insulting my hair!

"What's behind that?" I demand. "And aren't you a little old for a blankie? I like mine, too, but I leave it at home!"

Right, Switch in pocket. I'm not stupid. "What ever do you mean?"

I frown at the comment on my blanket. "It's soft." Not the greatest protest, but I'll be damned if I'm going to let him insult me. "You can never be too old for carrying your territory around with you."

[uchuukitaa]

"Territory, huh?" I say, taken aback. "Not a blankie?"

He's put the Switch away, at least. "Hey, Blanket Guy, let's be friends," I try my best smile.

"Yes," I tilt my head. He can't actually understand my simple explanation. "This blanket signifies my territory, the place where I belong. That's why I carry it with me, to show that I belong wherever I am." I smirk.

"My name is Kazari. Not Blanket Guy." I blink at him. "Why?"

[uchuukitaa]

"...huh," I say blankly. That actually makes a lot of sense.

I walk towards him, hand outstretched, not calling the belt for now. "Because I'm going to make friends with everyone here, Bl- Kazari, and I can help you not use that Switch!"

[yellowlion]

"Oh, hey, Kazari," I say absently, wandering past him with a big box of supplies for class. "How's it going?"

I haven't yet questioned him about the Switch device. Perhaps I should, considering my conversation with Fourze.

Perhaps I shouldn't. I close my hand around it. "It is fine. My first day of classes has been thus far uneventful." I haven't seen the theater obsessive yet, and that is probably why. If he even goes to this school.

[yellowlion]

"That's great," I say, pausing to give him my full attention for a moment. Rude of me otherwise. I grin. "You remember your lunch this morning, or do you need some cash?"

He actually stops and faces me instead of continuing about his business. Still taking some getting used to, actually having attention paid to me. "I brought something." And it's true. Like I was going to leave the house without food. I hope never to feel the initial hunger upon waking ever again.

[yellowlion]

"You're more organised than I am," I tell him ruefully, but then it's not too hard. I manage really well in *some* areas of my life. "I often make my own but even then Megumi has to sneak it into my bag."

I duck my head and shrug my shoulder. Compliments are weird. I like the way it makes me feel, though. "I do my best." I actually do quite a bit more than my best, but there you are. "You should be more cautious. Hunger is a terrible thing."

[hinooo]

It's time to come home.

I've brought Ankh with me, but I can't *find* him this morning. Either part. Maybe someone took him while I was asleep, stole him out of my hand-

No. No, don't be stupid. Just keep looking.

It can't be.

Less time than I thought must have passed between my... destruction, and my miraculous awakening.

Ankh's pet human looks exactly the same.

[hinooo]

I'm scouring the grass methodically. Maybe the pieces fell out of my pocket. Or a bird pecked them out and then dropped them somewhere.

I have to find him.

I see a person-shape on my right, and murmur absently, "Excuse me."

I tilt my head curious. He's searching for something. But it's definitely him.

"I'm not sure there is an excuse for you, OOO."

[hinooo]

My head jerks around and I yell in shock. Kazari? Here?!

I scramble to my feet and drop into a defensive position. He called me OOO. Maybe he doesn't know I can't transform. "K-Kazari?"

[catcameback]

He doesn't transform immediately. Curious.

But neither can I. Yet. I hope.

Still, he should be able to answer the questions that Jou could not.

"It certainly seems that way, doesn't it." I do a little half skip-step closer to him and bow. "At your service."

[fanhate]

I wasn't exactly made welcome at a certain house. But once the Ursa Major switch is put to use, I get the feeling the silver-haired one will want to know a little more about it.

He's not exactly hospitable, so I won't call around for him just yet. I'll be near the end of the street on the lookout for others.

I am not surprised that he's not hard to find. If I wasn't so curious, I'd give him a hard time for lurking. Luckily for him, I do have questions, and it's looking like no one else is going to answer them, even if they know the answers.

I walk right up too him. I have no reason to be afraid of him, after all. "Oi."

[fanhate]

"Yeah?" It's hard to restrain a smirk, because I just knew he'd be back, "I was wondering when you'd come looking for me."

I can only guess that he wasn't satisfied with the Switch in some way. I do look forward to hearing about its effects on him.

I growl at him, but it's not going to help my case much.

I pull the stupid Switch thing out of my pocket and shove it into his face. What is personal space?

"What happened to it?" After my encounter with the former OOO, the damn thing went all... strange. "Why is it like this?" Tiny spikes on the sides, and the button slipped down the side at an angle. Streaks of red. "Is it broken?"

[fanhate]

It's an increasing struggle not to just burst out laughing, but I shake my head, "Last One. That makes it more powerful. And you'll leave your own body the next time you use it." Shrug, "At least I think you will. You seem to be the first user who wasn't human to start with."

Chairman of the school board notwithstanding, of course.

"Next time?" I hiss. Then I shake my head and pull the device closer, squinting at it. "I haven't used it even once, you fool."

More powerful. How powerful could I get? "And after that? What happens after that? What are you?"
