curryjolokia: (akaki - Bad End Dream)
[personal profile] curryjolokia

It started as a Bed Ninja thread…it turned into "Gale accidentally a Basco species, homeworld, history of the last 100 standard years, and origin story, as well as turning a few otherwise innocent canon lines of dialogue into big honking lampshades in the meantime." 8D

Hah. Thank you to [personal profile] hakaseheart for threading this out with me! *kisses*

"They call me hakase for a reason, dammit." Or, Basco Might Need a DenLiner.

BASCO

I wake up groggily, not sure how much sleep I've actually gotten. I couldn't settle down last night - it was a late night, a generally satisfying one. AkaRed was annoying, but not as much as he usually is, and Marvey-chan being an idiot was as usual plenty to make the night enjoyable. I swear I stay around here just for him - he's like the little brother you want to tease and teach and bone, all at once. What? He's hot.

Whatever. Point is, it was a good night - so why the hell am I so sore upon waking? I sleepily pat at my throat and chest - yup, still human form, so I can be relatively sure i didn't have a spontaneous kaijin break in my sleep. Worst kind of dream wood ever, lemme tell you.

Ugh. Still. There's sun coming in the window of my bunk in the Galleon, but that does NOT mean I need to answer to it. I roll over, reaching for a pillow to slap over my head in search of more sleep. I get a handful of curly hair instead.

"...Bzh?"

.

DON

The sun is starting to get bright enough to pull me out of dreamland, and it has the added effect of making the sheets just a bit too hot for my comfort. Still, I'm ridiculously comfortable, and snuggled up far too nicely to bother waking up.

.

BASCO

I blink hard; scrunch my eyes up narrowly; stare wide-eyed. Yup, none of it's helping. There's a guy in my bunk with me and I have never seen him before. And he's in MY bunk.

My hand recoils back quickly, and my heart's beating quite a bit faster. I am really so very not sure what to do with this situation. Is he a new crew member AkaRed found? ....Am I still asleep?

"Hey. Hey." I prod him in the forehead. "Wake up. What are you supposed to be?"

[Main thread probable post order: Kazari-Ankh-Gamel-Mezool-Uva repeat? For the main thread, anyway, but if any two or three Greeed want to have separate conversations, feel free to make side threads.]

I've got to get Gamel and Mezool back together, mostly because I'm not about to share my parents with Gamel, and also because Gamel really just wants Mezool back. And maybe this time around she can actually give a shit about him instead of just pretending to.

Also I told Ankh that I'd keep him informed and that maybe we should all get together sometime and make sure all the backstabbing and hating each other is in the past. Or at least something we're better able to control.

Something I'm better able to control.

Also that was before Gamel came back, and so now we should probably all get together and talk about what the hell we're going to do if Maki comes back, too.

It takes some figuring out but in the end I send them all text messages telling them to come to the school, which is not in session today, so we can hang out in the courtyard and probably not be bothered.

I asked Megumi to help me make some food, because I think everyone would be in an awful mood if there wasn't any food. I guess it's like a picnic or something.

Ice cream for Ankh, he likes that, right? And no sushi, much to my unending disappointment. Don't want to put Mezool off. No chicken either, so it's mostly rice, vegetables, and sweets, that kind of stuff. I'll survive. I guess.

I bring Yummy too. He is the best cat in the entire world.

Now it's just a matter of waiting to see if they all show up. And whether my first instinct is to betray every single one of them. Again.

I lie in wait.

Only that's not an entirely accurate turn of phrase. As I'm standing, pacing, sometimes sitting, but never lying. He's lying, with cables wound around his arms at two points and his legs at three, plus a single loop around his neck should he get unwieldy when he finally wakes.

I've done my research, what little I can without speaking to him directly. The vaccine they're all tainted with makes my job a bit more difficult, but not impossible. I just have to alter my thinking somewhat. Not software, but hardware will be required, if this venture is going to succeed.

But I'd like to speak with him first. No one must know more about him than himself, non?

I think the fact that I haven't heard from Don in over a week is a bad thing. Normally I'd just shrug it off, but I can't deny the fact that no matter who he is, who I'm supposed to be, whatever it is: I'm worried about him. I haven't seen him since he left the house a wreck over Gai and shaking because Basco had come back, the way my parent's old enemy Kemp came back.

I can keep Gai relatively safe, and I've even managed to keep him from finding out that I'm in the Kamen Rider Club, a damn good thing too, because he's got this hero complex that I think he shares with... The other Gai, only he's young and he's only recently learning to defend himself and I just don't want him to join the KRC.

The short of it is, I need to track Don down and make sure he's alright. Make sure nothing terrible has happened to him.

I never got to go over to his house, I figure now that's probably because he doesn't actually have parents. But I think I know where it is anyway, so I head in that general direction on foot.
