THE CAPTIVITY MEME

You've been captured -- or maybe you've been held captive for a while now. Whatever the case, you've lost your freedom, and there's a specific person responsible for that. You might be a prisoner, a mental patient, a kidnap victim, or someone's pet. Maybe you're there willingly, or maybe the choice has been taken away from you completely.

Both smut and non-smut scenarios are possible. If you don't want to play smut, please indicate so in the title line of your tag.

1. Leave a tag with your character. Be sure to include any limits on what you are willing to play, as this meme has the potential to be triggering.
2. Someone else tags in and uses RNG to generate a number between 1 and 9 (or pick your favorite). The second character is holding the first character captive now.

1. For their own good. Does this person really think they could make it on their own? It's a big, scary world out there, and you need to protect them from it, whether they like it or not.

2. For the good of society. Forget protecting this person -- it's your duty to protect the world from them! Maybe they committed a terrible crime, or maybe they were falsely condemned, but it's your job to keep them locked up where they can't do any more harm.

3. Because they're not well. How's your bedside manner? Whether you're Florence Nightingale or Mildred Ratched, you're in the position of ministering to the mentally ill. Maybe this person genuinely needs your help, or maybe you're just turning a blind eye to their true sanity.

4. For the money. Higher aims? What higher aims? This person is your meal ticket, and they're staying put until their loved ones pay up.

5. For their love. It might be a case of yandere, or it might be a consenting BDSM relationship. Whether it's by mutual agreement or by force, you're keeping them simply because you love them.

6. Because they're cute and fluffy. Who's a cutesy wutesy? They are! Yes, they are! This person is your pet now. Maybe they're a different species from you, or maybe you just don't care that you're both people. Maybe you're even an alien zookeeper looking after a new acquisition.

7. Because they're your property. Slave? Livestock? Who cares what they think - they're your property, and you decide their fate.

8. For the lulz. Hey, what's a little bondage between friends? You'll let them go, once you're done laughing and snapping photos... maybe.

"This Thunder/Wind prank war has to stop," Cam said cheerfully, arms folded. "I'm not even sure how much you had to do with it, but Dustin's walking around permanently shellshocked and I think Tori's about to bust someone's, um, behind."

Hunter's eyes narrowed a bit skeptically.

"You tied me down to stop a prank war?" There was a little more testing of the restraints before he looked up again. "Seriously dude?" Right now, he was feigning innocence. Even if he wasn't.

"Well, it seemed like a good solution," Cam said wryly, though his mouth quirked a little. There was no disputing that it was quite interesting to see Hunter struggling like that.

"And would you stop with that expression? I've known you too long."

Hunter rolled his eyes and laid back, looking as relaxed as one could while restrained to the bed, his arms loose over his head. "You couldn't have...oh I don't know...talked to me first?"

I roll my eyes at that. "Every time someone's approached you two lately they've had to beware of either their life or their dignity. I saw what happened to Dustin's pants. So, no, not really."

I lean close. "I'm not saying our side is blameless. I'm just saying," and I let myself smirk here, just a little, "if you all piss me off too much, you'll feel my wrath."

Hunter couldn't help but grin at that. That had been one of his favorites. That and the shaving cream in the handles and steering wheel of Tori's van. And the spray painting Shane's skateboard pink.

"Dustin owes me a new fender, by the way." But as Cam get close, he just looks up at him. "So is this your wrath?" He tugs on the restrains holding him down.

It's hard not to grin back at Hunter's expression of unholy glee, but I manage to repress it fairly quickly.

"I'll talk to him. As soon as he stops wandering around vowing vengeance. How bad was it?"

I nod, though it's hard to keep my breathing even at the sight of him lying there squirming. "Just wait till you see what I drew on your face," I say sweetly.

"There are Barbie heads glued to it. I think the hair melted or something because they won't come off." There may have been two Ken doll heads in suspicious position but Hunter wasn't going to tell Cam that.

Hunter's expression turned stoney and his body tensed. "You did what?"

"Barbie heads?" I ask in revolted fascination. Why would you dismember dolls like that?

I look down at his completely untouched face, and grin. "Wouldn't you like to know."

Why would you care about Barbies? When they weren't stuck to Hunter's fender. "Yeah dude, Barbie heads. I don't even wanna know where he got them."

"You are so lucky I can't move." There were conflicted feelings in his gut about Cam joining in on the prank war, especially against him.

"Dustin has hidden depths. Or sometimes hidden shallows," I say wryly.

I reach out and beep his nose. "Oh, relax. I didn't do anything to your face. Today is meant as more of a threat than as actual action."

"Seriously. Don't want to know." Because the mental image of Dustin and Barbies was enough torture.

Hunter's nose wrinkled automatically even if he relaxed from relief. "Yes, because kidnapping me and tying me up isn't action. Couldn't you have just yelled at me?" Like usual.

"I'll keep that in mind for the next time I need to threaten you, then," I say cheerfully, tucking away 'Dustin's childhood' into the mental file marked 'Things to use against Hunter if necessary'. It's quite a big file, these days.

"...point. And yeah, maybe if you listened to me. But I've seen your lips moving, Bradley. What do you recite to yourself?!"

Thankfully, Hunter didn't need a file. He knew how to push Cam's buttons and most of the time, it was just being himself.

Now his eyes widened. "...Dude, have you gone insane? What are you talking about?"

Unfortunately, I know I'm only too vulnerable to certain people, and I have one of them tied up in front of me, and yet I just keep talking.

"When I'm attempting to give you people the fifth lecture in a series on Why We Do Not Eat In Our Zords, or my other 'favourite', No, Dustin, You Can't Play Neopets On Ninja Ops' mainframe. I've seen you! Distracting yourself! ...I think."

Just bury yourself deeper Cam.

"Distracting myself?" Hunter had no idea what Cam was talking about. Except maybe when he imitated Cam under his breath to make Blake or Shane laugh.

I have to keep reminding myself that I'm the one in the position of power here. Even if he does look annoyingly comfortable and confident and... hot...

"Never mind." I sigh. "Maybe I'll just gag you all next time."

Well, maybe you should do something about it.

"You wouldn't dare." Hunter didn't even bother sounding annoyed because he didn't think Cam had it in him. "In fact, are we done? Are you going to let me go now?"

...oh, that was irritating. "Wouldn't I?" I ask speculatively. "And I don't know about that. Are you going to stop?"

"That is the question isn't it." Hunter said with a bit of smugness before he rolled his eyes. "If Dustin replaces my fender, I'll stop. Okay?" He tugs at his bonds a bit. "Now let me up."

I plonk myself down next to him, a hand on the bed next to his chest to hold myself up while I lean in closer. "I'm not sure I should. You're less dangerous like this. And..."

In less danger. I hate when you get hurt.

Well...this was interesting. He looked up at Cam curiously. "I didn't know you were worried about me being dangerous around you." Cam wasn't scared of him was he? Hunter...really didn't like that thought.

"And what?"

"Not like that," I say hastily. "What happened with you and Blake, that's all water under the bridge. I mean you can't do any damage to Dustin's mental health if you're tied up. Unless he's more depraved than I'd thought, anyway."

I look at him levelly, eyebrows drawing down over my nose. He deserves an honest answer. Yes, he's been terrible, but I did tie him up, and besides. He's Hunter. "And you can't get hurt as easily," I say at last.

Hunter shuddered. "Can we please stop talking about Dustin?" That was the last thing he needed, the image of Dustin with a bondage fetish. Especially starring himself.

At this rate, he wasn't going to be able to look Dustin in the eye next time he saw the Earth Ninja.

He had to say, he hadn't been expecting that. "...Oh." It took a moment before he could go on. "I didn't know that...uh...mattered so much to you."
