THE CAPTIVITY MEME

You've been captured -- or maybe you've been held captive for a while now. Whatever the case, you've lost your freedom, and there's a specific person responsible for that. You might be a prisoner, a mental patient, a kidnap victim, or someone's pet. Maybe you're there willingly, or maybe the choice has been taken away from you completely.

Both smut and non-smut scenarios are possible. If you don't want to play smut, please indicate so in the title line of your tag.

1. Leave a tag with your character. Be sure to include any limits on what you are willing to play, as this meme has the potential to be triggering.
2. Someone else tags in and uses RNG to generate a number between 1 and 9 (or pick your favorite). The second character is holding the first character captive now.

1. For their own good. Does this person really think they could make it on their own? It's a big, scary world out there, and you need to protect them from it, whether they like it or not.

2. For the good of society. Forget protecting this person -- it's your duty to protect the world from them! Maybe they committed a terrible crime, or maybe they were falsely condemned, but it's your job to keep them locked up where they can't do any more harm.

3. Because they're not well. How's your bedside manner? Whether you're Florence Nightingale or Mildred Ratched, you're in the position of ministering to the mentally ill. Maybe this person genuinely needs your help, or maybe you're just turning a blind eye to their true sanity.

4. For the money. Higher aims? What higher aims? This person is your meal ticket, and they're staying put until their loved ones pay up.

5. For their love. It might be a case of yandere, or it might be a consenting BDSM relationship. Whether it's by mutual agreement or by force, you're keeping them simply because you love them.

6. Because they're cute and fluffy. Who's a cutesy wutesy? They are! Yes, they are! This person is your pet now. Maybe they're a different species from you, or maybe you just don't care that you're both people. Maybe you're even an alien zookeeper looking after a new acquisition.

7. Because they're your property. Slave? Livestock? Who cares what they think - they're your property, and you decide their fate.

8. For the lulz. Hey, what's a little bondage between friends? You'll let them go, once you're done laughing and snapping photos... maybe.

9. Choose a scenario, or combine several.

"What kind of monsters are they?" I ask. I pick up my case, the one I carry on my back, opening it up. I don't know if I can be subtle, but at least I can get ready just in case I can convince him to let me cast a spell on him.

I have to admit that I do need to reorganize my case a little. Kaoru-san teased me a few days ago that it looked like I was a technical geek and not a Makai Priest.

He starts pawing through some kind of case, and if I didn't know better I'd assume he was going to bandage me up or something. But no, I think he'd probably be less concerned about me seeing a doctor if he had that kind of confidence. Oh well, it doesn't really matter.

"They're not really monsters." I admit. "Well, metaphorically speaking they are. And they're not human. They're from other planets. Space Empire Zangyack."

Leo did forget the bandages, didn't he? Ooops.

"In our world," I tell him, "There's no intelligent life in outer space." At least none that we know of.

"But maybe I can help you find your way home. After I finish bandaging you up." I inspect my brush briefly, or rather let him see it so he knows I'm not going to stab him with it.

It's forgivable, hee. ;)

I stare at him for a long moment, they break into a weak smirk. No wonder he thought I was delusional at first.

"That would be ideal." I duck my head. "Thank you." I raise an eyebrow at his... brush? What exactly is he going to do with that?

I resist the urge to ask him his name. Instead, I put my gear down into my pouches and bandage the wounds on his back. "This will help until you find a doctor."

Pulling my gear out, I activate various devices with my brush before putting them in various places in the room. The ritual soothes me, and my mind is calm as I trace the desired effect in the air with the glowing brush, seeking his tie to this world or another.

After a moment, I have my answer. He's not delusional, not completely. The spell tells me he's not of this world. I might even find his for him.

I sit still while he bandages my back, and then lean over while he starts... doing something. With his brush and some other things. He makes no move to stop me from grabbing my Mobirates up off the table. I move carefully, though, not wanted to undo all the work he just did bandaging me up.

I don't try to call anyone just yet though. I watch him curiously, I'd like to ask what he's doing but I don't want to interrupt him if it requires silence or something. He's been kind enough to me.

I sit down. I think I can send him home, where he'd be safer. It would exhaust me, but he wouldn't be in danger here, at least. And I've got wards on the door at least.

"I think I can send you home," I tell him. He didn't react badly to the information spell, but that's nothing compared to the spell I have to cast on him.

Well, he's talking now, so I guess I can too. "What was it you were just doing?" I've seen a lot of things, even before joining Marvelous. It takes a lot to surprise me.

"You think?" I flip open my Mobirates now, and punch in Marvelous' number, but there's no connection, not even ringing. "Damn."

[surprisingwolf]

"I was figuring out if our worlds were connected enough to open a portal." It's a slight lie, but I doubt he knows that.

I sigh inwardly. I can't force him through a portal. I watch him use his device, and glaring at it when it fails. "It's not really... Close to this one, so it'll take more work to get a connection. Normally, it's done by more than one person."

I've really got no clue what he's talking about, so I shrug and gesture vaguely. He seems to know what he's doing, and I'm almost sure I'm in his world, not vice versa.

I return my Mobirates, and my Ranger Key to my pocket. "That sounds troublesome... How do you mean, another person like... well, like you? Or can I be any help?"

Oh. I wonder... I pull my Ranger Key out again and look at it thoughtfully. "Could I try something?"

"People who are trained," I explain. He couldn't help me, and I want him to get through before I collapse.

I watch as he puts his device in his pocket, and the retrieves something. "What are you thinking?" I ask curiously.

[gibken]

"Oh. Is no one... available?" Or maybe I attacked more people than I thought. Maybe I'm not trusted. Oops.

"I'm not sure if it'll make any difference, but I'd like to know whether my own connection to my universe is completely severed. I know of one way to test it..." I draw out my Mobirates again, flip it open and insert my Ranger Key.

Up to you if he can henshin

"I'm the only one right here," I tell him. I don't want him to know how vulnerable I am.

I watch him pull out the device he was concerned about and turn something. Instinctively, I raise my brush.

Figure he can henshin, but that's all :3

I shake my head a bit as the blue glow clears, and at least my transformation went off without a hitch. I feel a lot better this way too. If I can't get back to my own world quickly, at least I'm not completely helpless.

Now. I figure the dimensions must be connected somehow if Navi's link to the chest is still active. I try to summon a Ranger Key to my belt, but for the first time in my memory, nothing happens.

"Oh, damn."

I watch armor of some kind form around him. Fairly light armor, but armor nonetheless, supplemented by a helmet. My brush is still in my hand.

He's trying something. My spell is still active enough that I can tell he's trying to pull something dimensionally. At the very least, his transformation will make things easier for me to form a portal.

"What happened?" I ask, when whatever he was trying fails.

[gibken]

I sigh and shake my head. "I tried to... It's kind of a long story. I was trying to summon something. I guess my link with my ship has been severed. That's... worrisome, to say the least."

[surprisingwolf]

"Perhaps when you get back home," I tell him. "I think the armor you just summoned will make it easier to get you there."

This is a dangerous place. His world might not be much safer, but at least it sounds like he has friends.

[gibken]

"If I make it back home, the link can always be recreated." I assure him.

I hesitate, about to drop the transformation when he says that. "So I should stay this way, then?" That's fine.

"What do you need me to do?"

[surprisingwolf]

"I'm going to have you stand by the bed when it's ready. There should be a... disruption in the air that you'll be able to feel. When you feel it, walk through it." I'm giving him instructions now, just in case I go unconscious.

"But for the moment, please sit on the bed while I set it up." No sense in sending him to the wrong place. I pick up my sword to move it out of the way.
