I tilt my head at him curiously, but it's not like there's any harm in it. "Yeah, sometimes. I'm enrolled, that is. I don't always go to class..."

"I wondered if I'd seen you around." I ignore the part about not going to class. He's safer that way. "I go there too."

"Most likely." Even when I don't go to class, I'm often around, especially recently, trying to watch out for my brothers. "It's a popular school. My dad is one of the teachers. Oohara-sensei?"

I brighten. A little. Oohara-sensei might shoot me troubled looks, sometimes, but I like him. "Yes. He's not my teacher, but I'm familiar with him." I shove my hands in my pockets. "I have to admit that I tend to spend more time around the engineering teachers."

How does Gentaro make friends? I'm sure there's a way.

"I think everyone's familiar with him. He's pretty... knowable." That doesn't make sense, I don't think.

"Engineering, huh?" I tilt my head. "What's that like?"

I nod. Who doesn't know him at school? "You're very lucky."

I think of how to answer the question. "Putting things together and making sure they work," I tell him with a rueful chuckle. "Not quite a glamorous thing, but I spend a lot of time at club. How about you?"

"Yeah, he's a good guy." I grin. It's true. I like Jou a lot. I'd be pretty screwed up without him, I think.

"Huh. That's different. Sounds... um, useful? though? If not glamorous."

[surprisingwolf]

"It can be." I grin back at him. "Pleased to meet you. See you around school?"

I'll get to know him more later. Make friends, but I need to ask Gentaro how, first.
