Amanogawa High School.

Not my first choice as far as first school to teach at goes, but considering my other 'job' it's probably the one where I'll be needed the most. I actually find it sort of amazing that the school is still running, let alone keeping the regular attacks on the students and faculty a secret. I only know about it from Ein and Zwein's careful surveillance from Beet-Vizor.

It's been almost six years since I've seen them in person - about as long as it's been since I've seen Gordo and Patora, but I assume America isn't as dull as being in space - I hope they're not lonely up there in orbit by themselves. I wish I could see them once in a while, but then, I barely see Takuto anymore with all his traveling, and Ad's taken to wandering in recent years too.

Stop that, Kane, I stop in my steps to breathe in and out and shake my head to clear it, get my focus back. It won't do to go and get all weepy on your first day of proper teaching.

I push my glasses up my nose and fix the sleeves of my jacket. Ad was supposed to be joining me here soon, I won't be completely alone for much longer.

There are also fellow teachers and my new students to get to know. Not to mention I have to keep my eyes open for signs of the dark forces at work here. Lots of things to keep my mind busy.

I show my badge, and smile apologetically. "I'm Kamiya. I need to ask you some questions about odd occurrences at this school, Lucano-sensei."

I squint at the badge then blink rapidly, eyes going a little wide before I compose myself. Of course the local authorities would be somewhat involved in the situation at the school, whether they were fully aware of the forces behind it or not.

"Of course," I nod, bowing my head respectfully once more. "I'm not sure how much help I can be though, I only just started here today."

"That's fine, sensei. I just need to know if you're aware of the events that occur at this school? The attacks?"

I chew my lip, wondering just how much I should let on about what I know. I don't really know who I can trust yet, and with how easily the whole mess here is being covered up the local authorities could easily be in on the whole thing.

"I've heard rumors," I settle on that as my answer. It's neutral enough, implies I'm not swayed yet by anyone so as to be completely oblivious, and gives this Kamiya-san enough room to ask more direct questions. Maybe even supply some information of his own.

I frown, just a little. I've been a cop and a Gransazer too long to not have some idea of when people are hiding things from me, but the thing is, I'm also not a complete idiot. I know there are a multitude of reasons for hiding things.

"About the missing students? About the monster attacks?" I prompt impatiently, not wanting to play this hinting game.

I nod, not sure what else I could say. And maybe I'm dooming myself before I even start my first day teaching, but it's not like I can outright lie. I've never been any good at that.

"Not a lot of specifics though," I add with a small shrug. "Just vague rumors."

I sigh, and take out a card. It's handwritten. We don't have a big budget at my station. "Here. Call me if anything happens, please. And don't engage any monsters yourself. That's what we Gransazer- uh, we police are for."

...........what the hell is wrong with me.

"Gran...sazer?" I tilt my head, wondering if I heard him correctly. He did seem to back-peddle awfully fast, maybe he said something completely different and my brain my heard something familiar.

I nod, looking down at his card, wondering if I should say something or just wait for Ad to get here and ask him what we should do.
