Welcome to the Dinohouse Christmas "meme"! This is going to work a bit differently from most memes, but still free free to do what you want here!

The idea:
Following this post I will be making an assortment of Universe/Location "thread" comments. These will define the specific scene and universe being worked in. Comments by applicable characters will follow under that comment.

Example:
Mushverse; Shiba Mansion; open to Shinkengers

Comments following that would all be set in the Mushverse universe, be by any Shinkengers that want to participate, and take place at the Shiba Mansion Christmas party. Think of it sort of like every "top level" comment is its own post to the community.

Following that example, if your desired AU/Canon/etc isn't there, feel free to make a "thread" for it! Say there's already a Mushverse Go-busters "thread", and you want to do something in Aibouverse, or something more canon, maybe just between two characters? Make one!

Comments following the "thread" headings can be group setting free for all, or between individuals. Say it's a canon GokaiGalleon party, and Gai and Luka want to go off alone, or are on their way to the Galleon together? Their thread can be a separate second level comment thread beneath the main Canon Gokaiger thread.

I know that's a lot of information/qualifiers, but don't let it make you nervous to post, "rules" are fluid, and mainly set for added organization.

I'm determined that this year will be different. No trips to hospital or jail (Yuusuke didn't mean to do what he did with that duck). No Megumi run off her feet. She gets to sit down while we do it all.

I know I can be a little absentminded, but everyone's helping, and I found a really good recipe book.

I'm leaning against the stove with a dish of potatoes in one hand, and the book in the other, when I smell something.

Sniff.

Sniff sniff.

Oh, shit. "YUUSUKE! I THINK I SET MYSELF ON FIRE AGAIN!"

Debut of the teen-face

I know the shout isn't meant for me but I bolt into the kitchen on hearing it anyway, tinsel trailing behind me as I skid to a halt inside.

Oh crap, he really is on fire. I grab for a towel to try and put it out.

"What's going on?"

I run into the kitchen where, sure enough, Jou's on fire and Katsumi is beating at him with a tea towel. I go back to the hall for a fire extinguisher and prepare to let loose on them.

cuuuuute (both of you!)

Katsumi's smacking me with some festive tea towel thing that I think Yuusuke got from when he went to visit the Gaorangers that time, it's dreadful, but it makes him laugh. I'm coughing, I'm not even sure where the fire part IS any more, probably my ass knowing my luck.

"Fire!" I yell at Yuusuke, half cranky, half desperate.

We try. XD

"Not at me!" I protest, torn between carrying on trying to put the fire out and getting out the way so I don't get a face full of fire extinguisher.

In the end I back off. There's nothing I can do that Yuusuke can't with that.

I swerve to avoid Katsumi, and go for Jou at full blast. Better spray him all over just in case the fire's spreading.

Continuing for now until Meg's back.

I sigh in relief as Yuusuke avoids me, but it's hard to avoid breathing it in anyway and I try batting the fumes away as best I can. He's definitely going full blast at Jou, which I'm not sure Jou will appreciate, much as it gets the fire out.

That's better. I think he's gone out.

There's a siren that threatens to shatter my eardrums. I wonder if someone called the fire brigade, but then realise it's the smoke alarm, "MEGUMI! Switch that off, will you?" I can't put this fire extinguisher down in case I need it again.

I wince as the alarm goes off, but then it stops abruptly so I guess someone got to it. I look over at Jou and Yuusuke and have to fight back the grin at seeing Jou completely covered in white.

"Suits you," I say blandly, unable to keep the words from coming out of my mouth.

[yellowlion]

I'm still hyperventilating, still flapping at myself, patting myself, but now my hands are just squishing.

I....... I'm covered in white.

Katsumi, of course, makes a smartass comment. I open my mouth to retort something horribly witty but instead a puff of white foam comes out of my mouth, then another gob falls off my hair onto my nose.

"Hey now, Katsu-chan. Don't be cheeky."

I take a very half-hearted swipe at the smoke alarm. Any exertion might put my back out.

I scowl at the nickname. I hate it when they call me that, I'm not a child.

[yellowlion]

I cough, then cough again, and look down at my feet. "Do you think it's too late to call for pizza?" I ask them ruefully. "Yuusuke, Katsu-ch- Katsumi?"

[redfalcon]

What's wrong with him?

I grab a newspaper and wave it in the general direction of the smoke alarm. It doesn't help.

"I don't think Megumi would appreciate pizza," I point out as Yuusuke starts waving a paper around. "It's not particularly festive."

I yelp in surprise as Yuusuke manages to waft a glob of white goo in my direction, wiping at my face and glaring at him.

[redfalcon]

"Sorry. Sorry. Here." I grab the teatowel and swipe at his little face with it.

Kids. Why's he always so grumpy? Shouldn't he be out there enjoying his youth?

[hotshotlightning]

I swipe the towel back: I can wipe off my own face, thank you.

[redfalcon]

Better get Jou cleaned up as well. I grab another tea towel and dive straight in.

The smoke alarm has stopped at last, but the room's still full of smoke. Someone should open a window.

[hotshotlightning]

I flap the towel in front of my face to try and get the smoke out of my face but it doesn't work. Nothing for it, I'm gonna have to open a window, even if it's freezing out there. It'd only be long enough to get rid of the smoke anyway.

[redfalcon]

It's freezing in here.

"Close the window, will you? It's like an ice box in this kitchen!" I pick up the remains of the pizza and go to throw them out.

[hotshotlightning]

"I'm just letting the smoke out," I tell him. "I'll shut it in a minute."

Seeing as waving bits of paper around doesn't seem to be doing anything.

[yellowlion]

It is surprisingly difficult to apply burn cream to your own ass.

I walk gingerly back into the kitchen, in mismatched clothes because I forgot to do laundry this morning, and smile weakly at Yuusuke and Katsumi. "Um. Sorry."

[hotshotlightning]

"Uh huh." Megumi's going to be so pissed when she finds out about this and considering the mess we're not gonna to be able to clean this up before she does.

"How did you set yourself on fire?

[yellowlion]

"I don't know," I say helplessly. "There were potatoes, and a book, and then there was just HOT."

[hotshotlightning]

"Why were you reading while you were cooking?" I demand. If nothing else that's the best way to get burnt food. Though that still doesn't explain why...

"Were you leaning against the oven?"
