Welcome to the Dinohouse Christmas "meme"! This is going to work a bit differently from most memes, but still free free to do what you want here!

The idea:
Following this post I will be making an assortment of Universe/Location "thread" comments. These will define the specific scene and universe being worked in. Comments by applicable characters will follow under that comment.

Example:
Mushverse; Shiba Mansion; open to Shinkengers

Comments following that would all be set in the Mushverse universe, be by any Shinkengers that want to participate, and take place at the Shiba Mansion Christmas party. Think of it sort of like every "top level" comment is its own post to the community.

Following that example, if your desired AU/Canon/etc isn't there, feel free to make a "thread" for it! Say there's already a Mushverse Go-busters "thread", and you want to do something in Aibouverse, or something more canon, maybe just between two characters? Make one!

Comments following the "thread" headings can be group setting free for all, or between individuals. Say it's a canon GokaiGalleon party, and Gai and Luka want to go off alone, or are on their way to the Galleon together? Their thread can be a separate second level comment thread beneath the main Canon Gokaiger thread.

I know that's a lot of information/qualifiers, but don't let it make you nervous to post, "rules" are fluid, and mainly set for added organization.

"You've got a point. I've got to pick up a few last-minute things myself." I laugh a little, scratching the back of my head. I tilt my head when he mentions the get-together, and smile again.

It's getting easier all the time, I think. "Yeah. I mean--if it's okay with you. Do you need me to bring food? Maybe sparkling grape juice?" I don't like coming to places if I can't help out a bit--and the store's been doing a little better, so my pockets are somewhat eased.

"Mostly food." I clarify. Not that I don't still have some shopping to do, but mostly I make my presents anyway.

"Course you're welcome, like, would I even invite you if you were't welcome?" I frown at the thought. I know there are some people out there who are that kind of jerk-off, the kind of people who are only nice to other people to their face.

I ain't like that.

"Somethin' to drink would be a huge help, yeah."

[reciept]

"Ah, cool. I'll bring something by, then! Maybe a couple of things. What time are you guys starting? Should I dress up?" I ask--a little more excited than usual. It's kind of making my day, actually. Kanji's a really great guy.

I shift on my heels a little. Pick up some smallish things for the people at Kanji's party, then visit sis, then stop back by the store and ask Mom if I can take some grape juice, offer to pay for it anyway... That all wouldn't take a very long time, I don't think. "Who's gonna be there? --This sounds like too many questions, my bad."

"It'll go on, like, all night, no big deal." I blink at him, and consider dressing up for a second.

"Don't dress up. I mean, have you ever seen Yu-senpai dress up? Or Chie-senpai, for that matter?"

Not that they're all going to be there. "I don't know who all's gonna come, I mean, I just sent a text out and told everyone to come whenever."

I hope Naoto's coming, but he's probably working.

[reciept]

"Yeah, that's really true. All right! I'll come by whenever then. I've got a couple errands to run, but thanks for inviting me, Kanji-kun. I mean it." I smile widely and half-bow. "I'll get started on my stuff right away, then I'll be down there, okay?"

I hum to myself a little, looking around. Small things! They'll like those, and it won't break my bank. I'll pick up flowers, first, though.

"Sounds great!"

He's such a good guy.

I still feel bad about all that shit that happened, who wouldn't? But I'm glad for him that he seems to have figured himself out, found the right path for himself, and hold onto some personal happiness without letting the stress of the town or the grief over his sister be his whole entire world.

And he didn't even have to get tossed into the TV to do it, so I reckon he's probably a better person'n me. At the base of it all.

"Thanks, Naoki-kun. I'll see you when you get there, alright?"

I'd better head home now that I'm actually expecting a guest...

"Yeah, I'm gonna pick up a few things, go see Sis, and then I'll be there, okay?" Man, that'd mean gift-wrapping.

I wasn't... totally, fully okay. I doubted I'd ever really be--but it could happen in the future; sempai had just given me a lot of hope and really good advice to set me on my path forward. I wanted to live for both of us--and Sis would want me living for myself.

I was far from perfect! But at least I'm not being crushed by the pity of others, anymore. It's been long enough for me to get... somewhat past it. I still have school, and more school after that.

I hoped me mentioning Sis wasn't too awkward or out of the way. It kinda slipped out, there.

I think it's great that he still visits his sister. Hell, it reminds me that if I was less of a shitty son, I'd probably have visited Dad already, since it's fuckin' Christmas and all.

I shake my head to clear it and beam at him. "Sounds really great. Thanks, Naoki-kun. I dunno who all's gonna show up, but with you comin', well. It's good, it's really good."
