Welcome to the Dinohouse Christmas "meme"! This is going to work a bit differently from most memes, but still free free to do what you want here!

The idea:
Following this post I will be making an assortment of Universe/Location "thread" comments. These will define the specific scene and universe being worked in. Comments by applicable characters will follow under that comment.

Example:
Mushverse; Shiba Mansion; open to Shinkengers

Comments following that would all be set in the Mushverse universe, be by any Shinkengers that want to participate, and take place at the Shiba Mansion Christmas party. Think of it sort of like every "top level" comment is its own post to the community.

Following that example, if your desired AU/Canon/etc isn't there, feel free to make a "thread" for it! Say there's already a Mushverse Go-busters "thread", and you want to do something in Aibouverse, or something more canon, maybe just between two characters? Make one!

Comments following the "thread" headings can be group setting free for all, or between individuals. Say it's a canon GokaiGalleon party, and Gai and Luka want to go off alone, or are on their way to the Galleon together? Their thread can be a separate second level comment thread beneath the main Canon Gokaiger thread.

I know that's a lot of information/qualifiers, but don't let it make you nervous to post, "rules" are fluid, and mainly set for added organization.

The cloth shopping bag on my shoulder is heavy, laden with all sorts of wonderful ingredients. Kanji-kun's text came at just the right time; I had been thinking about just spending Christmas at home, watching the new movies I invariably get, but now, I have a plan.

I have eggs. I have flour. I have butter. I have chocolate... bars. I have sugar... konpeito, really, but I can crush those up no problem. I have strawberries, although I'm not sure if I should thaw them before or after they go in the oven. I have...

...no clue who that is over there clutching Kanji-kun like a doll. "Hey!" I shout, rushing across the street to reach them. "Let him go!"

The moment he speaks I know I've made a huge mistake. There is no way on this earth that Takeshi - or any Umemori, for that matter - could have a voice that deep.

But the resemblance is uncanny.

I hold onto him a bit longer, squinting at his face. Of course it's then that I realize this man is quite a bit taller than my brother, also considerably more muscular. In the way that indicates he could snap me like a twig, Samurai or no.

And now someone else hash rushed in to his defense, and I back down quickly. Taking a safe step back and holding up my hands. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry! He just... you look so much like my brother!"

This guy is kinda... skinny like a twig, so I don't struggle too much even if I am annoyed with his accusations. I don't wanna hurt him or nothin'.

I blink and look around at a familiar voice. "Chie-senpai!"

I'm not entirely sure how I feel about the shopping bag over her shoulder, and how obviously full it is, no doubt of ingredients that won't actually add up to anything... eatable.

But, hey, maybe if everyone shows up, something can be salvaged.

I turn back to the guy who shouted at me first, taking a step back.

"Uh, sorry?" I look down at myself, and try to remember if there's anyone... anywhere in town who looks anything like me. Nothing comes to mind.

"I'm not." I add helpfully, looking to Chie-senpai a bit helplessly.

And so it begins

The stranger doesn't look too too threatening, on second glance; that said, between Kanji-kun and myself, I bet we could take him. That's not saying much.

So, this guy, whoever he is, isn't Kanji-kun's brother, but he let himself be pawed up like that. I think on this for a brief second before the dots connect; just another sign that I'm destined for the police force, with deductive reasoning like this. If they're not related by blood, then it must be that kind of a close relationship.

"Aaaaah, I get it now," I say to Kanji-kun. "Sorry to have interrupted something like that."

I turn to the stranger and bow. "Please take good care of Kanji-kun."

I take a step back and bow low in deep apology. Not only did I rush at this poor stranger, but I also indirectly accused him of living a life of 'crime and sin'. I should never judge someone so harshly, even one that looks so... harsh.

"Please forgive my rudeness." I right my posture after a long moment, and then blink at the man's obvious friend. Her words are... confusing, at best.

I'm totally ready to forgive this super hyperactive crazy stranger and go on with my day, greet Chie-senpai properly and see if she's coming to the party and--

And then---

She--

But--

What?

"Senpai!" I shout, affronted, and take a hasty stumbling step back from the stranger, holding both arms up in a guarded stance. "It ain't like that at all, senpai, I don't even know this guy. It was a mistake, okay, a mistake."

I glower at her a bit. "You sound like Yousuke-senpai when you say shit like that, Chie-senpai."

Hmm. I think I might be ever so slightly off-base on that particular deduction. I study Kanji-kun's face while he glares at me; I'm pretty sure he's telling the truth. The bit about Yousuke... that hurts, just a bit.

"Well, you know, how it looked, and you and Naoto-kun, and..." I trail off. Something in the back of my mind starts cackling madly; I try to ignore it. "Nevermind."

I turn to the stranger. Well, time to make that all-important first impression. "I'm Satonaka Chie," I say, bowing again. "Pleased to meet ya!"
